This involves a one-on-one online session, via your computer, tablet or phone, with one of our clinicians. Telehealth has been available for many years in the medical field and up to now has only been available for people living outside the Melbourne metropolitan area.
It has been used successfully with excellent feedback from both patients and clinicians.
When Can A Sleepwise Telehealth Consultations Be Used?
Telehealth consultations are particularly useful if you find it difficult to get into our clinic for any reason or would prefer to speak with an expert clinician online
How does it work?
We will email you a link and the process is very simple to implement to get things started.
What if I need to come in person?
Patients can choose to have their consultation online via Telehealth, or can come into our city location for a visit with the practitioner. If you do come into the clinic, we want to assure you that we are practising the highest level of infection control following the current Australian Dental Association guidelines. We consider the clinic to be a safe environment for our staff and patients.
Do you have any other locations?
Patients can also attend our other locations in South Yarra and Geelong. Bookings there are by appointment only. Please contact our reception team on 1300 101 505 for more information.
What equipment do I need for a telehealth consultation?
Telehealth consultations are done via the Zoom application, either through your phone, tablet, PC or Mac. If you choose to use your PC or Mac, you will need a webcam, microphone and speakers. Most laptops have these in-bult into the system. An internet connection is also required.
I’m not very technologically proficient, will I be able to use telehealth consultations?
Telehealth consultations are designed to be relatively straightforward to implement, however if you need any help with setting this up, feel free to contact our friendly reception team who can assist you.
Will my private health insurance cover this consultation?
In the current COVID-19 environment, private health insurance companies have extended telehealth consultations to cover all of Melbourne.
How do you ensure that my consultation is private and my information remains confidential?
We ensure that telehealth consultations are password protected and are conducted by our clinicians in a private setting, similar to when you come in for a consultation. The Zoom application is also compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). This ensures that your information is secure and encrypted.
